01Overview
Deroll (“the App”) helps you understand and reduce time spent in short-form video and endless-feed apps. It estimates usage for apps you choose to monitor, scores that day with a rot index, tracks streaks and clarity, and — if you enable Hard block — may restrict those apps after a daily budget using Apple’s Screen Time APIs.
02Who we are
Deroll is developed and published by Aldy Syahdeini (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Deroll iOS application and its related App Extensions (including the Screen Time monitor and shield extensions) that share data through an Apple App Group on your device.
Questions about this policy can be sent to the support email listed on the Deroll App Store product page.
03Information we use
Depending on how you use Deroll, the App may process the following categories of information:
- Selection tokens. Opaque identifiers from Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time APIs for the apps or categories you choose to monitor. These tokens let Deroll track only what you selected — not a full inventory of every app on your phone.
- Usage estimates. Minutes (and related aggregates) for monitored apps, used to calculate your daily rot index, budget progress, streaks, clarity, and achievements.
- Preferences & settings. Daily budget, Hard block on/off, taper plans, monitored groups, notification preferences, and similar configuration you set in the App.
- Progress data. Clarity points, grace tokens, streak length, trophy / achievement state, and weekly report inputs derived from the data above.
- Purchase entitlements. Whether Deroll Pro is active (subscription or lifetime), as reported by Apple’s StoreKit — not your full payment card details.
- Diagnostics you choose to share. If Apple’s standard crash reporting or App Store feedback tools are enabled on your device, Apple may receive diagnostic data under Apple’s own privacy terms. Deroll does not embed separate third-party crash or analytics SDKs.
04Screen Time & Family Controls
Monitoring and Hard block rely on Apple frameworks: FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings. You must grant Screen Time authorization for these features to work.
Apple mediates access. Deroll does not receive a continuous feed of your entire device activity outside the apps or categories you select. Blocking, when enabled, applies only to those monitored selections after your daily budget is exceeded (or when you explicitly trigger a test block).
iOS may delay or limit monitoring and shields. Deroll cannot override Apple’s system rules or guarantee second-perfect accuracy.
05Purchases (Deroll Pro)
Optional paid features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions and/or a one-time lifetime purchase through the App Store. Apple processes payment. We receive entitlement status so Pro features can unlock. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or Apple ID password.
Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through Apple (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and Apple’s refund policies).
06What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use Screen Time data for advertising or ad targeting.
- We do not require an account or email sign-in to use the core App.
- We do not upload your monitored-app usage history to our own servers as part of the current App design.
- We do not share your on-device usage totals with other apps or social networks.
07Storage, App Group & security
App data is stored locally on your device, including in Application Support storage and an App Group container shared with Deroll’s extensions so monitoring and shielding can work when the main App is not open.
We rely on iOS sandboxing and Apple platform security. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, but Deroll is designed so sensitive habit data does not need to leave your device for the core product to function.
08Notifications & Live Activities
If you allow notifications, Deroll may send local reminders about usage milestones (for example every few minutes of monitored use). These notifications are scheduled on your device; they are not push campaigns from our servers.
Live Activities (Dynamic Island / Lock Screen) show budget and usage progress using data already available on your device.
09Children
Deroll is intended for adults managing their own screen habits using individual Screen Time authorization. It is not a parental-control product for supervising a child’s device, and it is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the App Store support email and we will take appropriate steps.
10Your choices
- Revoke Screen Time / Family Controls access in iOS Settings.
- Remove monitored apps or categories inside Deroll.
- Turn Hard block off, adjust your budget, or clear history in Settings.
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Delete the App, which removes on-device App and App Group data associated with Deroll.
- Manage or cancel Deroll Pro in Apple ID subscription settings.
11Retention
Because core data is stored on your device, retention is largely under your control. Historical day records remain until you clear them in the App or delete Deroll. Purchase entitlement state may be re-checked with Apple when you restore purchases or relaunch the App.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if Apple changes Screen Time APIs or we add optional features. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected in the App Store listing or in-app legal links where appropriate.
13Contact
Privacy questions: use the support email on the Deroll App Store product page. Please include enough detail for us to understand your request (for example whether it concerns Screen Time permissions, purchases, or on-device data).
