01Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Deroll (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
02The service
Deroll estimates time spent in apps or categories you choose to monitor, scores that usage (including a daily rot index), tracks streaks, clarity, and achievements, and — if you enable Hard block — may restrict those monitored apps after you exceed a daily budget, using Apple’s Screen Time APIs (Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings).
Features may include local notifications, Live Activities, taper plans, weekly reports, and other Pro tools described in the App. Availability of any feature depends on your device, iOS version, Screen Time authorization, and whether you have an active Deroll Pro entitlement where required.
Not medical advice. The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychiatric, or mental-health diagnosis or treatment. If you need professional help, contact a qualified clinician.
03Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet Apple’s age requirements for the App Store. Deroll is intended for adults managing their own screen habits with individual Screen Time authorization — not as a substitute for parental controls on a child’s device.
04License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service / Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer (except to the extent permitted by law), rent, or sublicense the App, or remove proprietary notices.
05Deroll Pro — subscriptions & purchases
Optional paid features (“Deroll Pro”) may be offered as auto-renewing subscriptions and/or a one-time lifetime purchase. Billing is processed by Apple through your Apple ID.
- Payment. Charges are made to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or after a free trial converts, if applicable).
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Trial. If an introductory free trial is offered (for example on an annual plan), a payment method may be required up front. Unused trial time may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription where applicable. After the trial, the subscription converts to a paid plan unless cancelled.
- Manage / cancel. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or as otherwise described by Apple.
- Price changes. Apple may display current prices in the App Store and paywall. If subscription prices change, Apple’s rules for notice and consent apply.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. We cannot process App Store refunds directly.
- Restore. Use “Restore purchases” in the App if you reinstall or switch devices signed into the same Apple ID.
06Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Choosing which apps or categories to monitor or block
- Keeping Screen Time permission enabled if you want monitoring and Hard block to work
- Setting a budget and Hard block preferences that fit how you want to use your device
- Using the App in compliance with applicable law and Apple’s terms
- Maintaining the security of your Apple ID and device
07Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse Screen Time APIs or attempt to circumvent system protections in unlawful ways
- Use the App to harass, harm, or unlawfully restrict another person’s device access
- Interfere with or disrupt the App, related services, or Apple platforms
- Misrepresent affiliation with Deroll or use our name or marks without permission
08Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted monitoring, perfect minute accuracy, that Hard block will engage at the exact second a budget is crossed, or that any particular wellbeing outcome will result from using the App. Features depend on Apple system services that we do not control.
09Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or device functionality arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App — even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for Deroll Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (US $50), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
10Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
11Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and the developer of Deroll, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty (to the extent warranties are not effectively disclaimed), you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the App (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. For subscription billing issues, contact Apple Support as appropriate.
12Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue for disputes, subject to those mandatory rights.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
13Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and uninstall it.
